New Schoolhouse Opens–On Time!

On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, the Nightingale-Bamford School opened the blue doors to over 600 students to begin the 2016-2017 school year. Although this was Nightingale's 96th opening day, it was the first in our beautifully renovated schoolhouse! After a complex and ambitious four-year construction project, 28 and 30 East 92nd street are now fully integrated into the school's facilities. Impressively–and as a testament to the hard work of our trustees, administration, and construction team–there was no need to delay the opening of school.

Highlights of the new schoolhouse include a blackbox theater, fitness center, brand new art studios and science labs, redesigned libraries, a makerspace, and a greenhouse. These new facilities have also allowed us to redesign our academic schedule to reflect best practices and encourage a depth of learning and a balance between school and life.

We are excited to share details about all of these new spaces, and more, in the coming days. Be sure to check back here, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram, for updates.
