On Tuesday, March 11, from 7:00–8:00 p.m., Nightingale invites parents to the school to review updated plans for the schoolhouse expansion, made possible by the purchase of townhomes at #28 and #30 East 92nd Street. On view will be “final floor plans, renderings of some of our new signature spaces, and an exploration of how our new schoolhouse will enhance the ways in which we educate and support your daughters,” explained Head of School Paul Burke.
The new plans are the result of a collaborative process stemming from Nightingale’s work with Community Board 8 and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in addition to feedback from several public meetings last spring.
“Over the last several months, we have worked closely with faculty and staff to hone the design of each space, ensuring that our schoolhouse fully supports our students in their learning while also remaining flexible for the future,” said Mr. Burke. “We are thrilled about what is ahead. I shared a draft of the plans with the Middle and Upper School students a few weeks ago; I am excited to share the latest version with parents.”
